2002-03 Pac-10 Player of the Week: Dec. 2 - Luke Ridnour, ORE.
Notes from Around the Pac-10ARIZONA - Senior forward Luke Walton played just four minutes against Northern Arizona before spraining his ankle. However, sophomore center Channing Frye expects Walton to return quickly. According to Frye, 'Luke is tough. He's got that old man's strength. He's a competitor so he'll be back really soon.' ... Sophomore guard Salim Stoudamire has been hampered by a high ankle sprain and has not appeared in the first two contests, but has practiced at full speed this week and will be ready for the Saint Louis game ... The Cats have posted back-to-back 100 point games for the first time since Nov. 29 - Dec. 2, 2000.
ARIZONA STATE - The Sun Devils are off to a 4-1 start for just the second time under coach Rob Evans ... ASU welcomed the return of Curtis Millage. Millage sat out due to academic issues. He was cleared to play on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and proceeded to hop on airplane and arrived in Maui in time to join the team for its win over Utah. In fact, Millage started, scored a game-high 26 points in 36 minutes ... Freshman forward Ike Diogu averaged 20.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in four games last week. With 22 points vs. Utah, then 27 points in the win over Lafayette, Diogu became the first ASU freshman since Mario Bennett in 1991-92 to post back-to-back 20-point games.
CALIFORNIA - Junior guard A.J. Diggs tied the Cal record for steals in a game with 8 at Cleveland State; Jason Kidd set the mark against Washington in 1993 ... OREGON - The Ducks have won 19 straight at McArthur Court. The school record is 23, set from 1937-39 ... Oregon looks to play before the largest crowd in state history to watch a basketball game when the Ducks take on Kansas in Portland on Saturday. The record is 15,431 fans for last year's Duke/Portland game at the Rose Garden. So far 16,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday's game ... Junior guard Luke Ridnour has 307 career assists, ranking sixth on Oregon's all-time list.
OREGON STATE - Freshman guard Lamar Hurd is averaging 7.0 assists per game, which is overly impressive considering the team is shooting just .409 from the field for the season. At his current pace he would conclude the regular season with 189 assists -- fifth at OSU for a single season, and the most by any Beaver other than Gary Payton ... Seniors Brian Jackson (15-of-28, .536) and Philip Ricci (12-of-17, .706) have combined to average 38.5 points on 27-of-45 (.600) shooting. The rest of the team is shooting just .305 (25-82).

Already 2-1 against teams ranked in the top 25, Stanford was 5-6 against top 25 foes last season. The win over No. 7 Florida was the first win for the Cardinal over a top 10 team since defeating No. 1 Duke 84-83 on Dec. 21, 2000.
UCLA - The Bruins look to avoid an 0-3 start for the first time since the 1940-41 season when UCLA began the season 0-8. The last time UCLA started 0-2 was in 1961-62 ... With 1,644 career points, senior forward Jason Kapono needs 56 points to become the 12th player in UCLA history to reach 1,700 career points.
USC - Junior guard Desmon Farmer scored 23 points in the win over Morris Brown. It was the fifth time he's scored at least 20 points in his career and most since scoring 24 points as a freshman vs. Washington State .... Farmer's 62 three-pointers rank him 15th on the USC career charts ... USC's 41-point margin of victory was its largest since beating Northwestern by 41 points in 2000 ... Brandon who? WASHINGTON STATE - Junior Marcus Moore needs just 178 points for 1,000, 56 assists for 300 and 23 steals for 125 in his career...if he reaches all three milestones, he will become the third player in WSU history to accomplish the feat...Keith Morrison (1983-86) and Bennie Seltzer (1990-93) are the other two ...
