Nine Men's Soccer Players Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Team

Nine players from the California men's soccer team were named to the 2002 Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. This is the most Cal players ever fielded on the team.

Second team selections include sophomores Yohei Fukuda and Alex Martinez. Receiving honorable mention are juniors Omar Gusmao, Matt Lawler and Brian Walker, and sophomores Calen Carr, Noah Merl, Ryan Swiontek and Garrett Terracciano.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum of 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
