Three Conference teams made it through the opening week of Pac-10 play unscathed, as both STANFORD and UCLA collected two wins and WASHINGTON went 1-0... The Bruins jumped out to their first 2-0 Pac-10 start since the 1999-2000 season... The Cardinal (8-1 overall, 2-0 Pac-10) wraps up its non-conference slate this week, hosting 19th-ranked Oklahoma Friday night and Pepperdine Sunday... The Cardinal-Sooners contest will be televised live on FOX Sports Net... CALIFORNIA (4-5, 1-1) also plays its final non-conference games of the year, at Mercer Thursday night and Georgia on Saturday... In Pac-10 play, the Oregon schools travel to the desert -- with Saturday's OREGON STATE-ARIZONA and OREGON-ARIZONA STATE games televised live by FOX Sports Net -- and the Washington schools head to Los Angeles... The Huskies are the winners of eight straight games dating back to Nov. 29, while the Bruins have won three in a row.

CALLING ALL COACHES: Pac-10 head women's basketball coaches will be available on a media teleconference each week during Conference play, with an additional preseason call scheduled in December. Each coach is scheduled to be on the line for five minutes with the calls starting at 9:30 a.m. PST. In addition, a taped replay will be available at 4 p.m. PST following the call and will be available until the next call. Media members may call the Pac-10 office to receive the media-only number for both the live teleconference and taped replay. PAC-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
STANFORD sophomore guard Kelley Suminski has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 23-29.

Suminski, from Chester, N.J., averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds as sixth-ranked Stanford jumped out to a 2-0 start in Pac-10 play with home wins over Arizona State and No. 21 Arizona. On the week, Suminski shot 50.0 percent from the field (11-of-22), 57.1 percent from 3-point range and drained 13 of 14 free throws (.929).

In the 80-63 win over the Sun Devils Dec. 27, Suminski scored a career-high 25 points, including 18 in the first half. She went 8-of-13 from the floor and was a perfect 3-of-3 from long range and 6-of-6 from the line. In the 82-74 come-from-behind victory over the Wildcats Dec. 29, Suminski notched 14 points and tied a career high with eight assists. She recorded 10 points and six assists in the second half, as the Cardinal rallied from a 13-point deficit to record their second win over a Top-25 opponent this season.

Stanford (8-1 overall, 2-0 Pac-10) continues its homestand when No. 19 Oklahoma visits Maples Pavilion Friday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on FOX Sports Net.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Suminski's career and the 47th all-time selection for the defending Pac-10 Champion Cardinal.
