SERIES: California has won eight straight and has forged toa 63-54 advantage in the series, according to Pac-10 Conference records. The series dates back to the 1915-16 season. Cal shot .571 from the field for the game in last year's 73-58 victory over the Beavers at the Haas Pavilion. Joe Shipp scored 18 points to lead the Bears, while Philip Ricci scored a game high 23 points for the Beavers. The Bears won last year at Gill 63-51. OSU has not beaten Cal since the 1997-98 season, the longest current drought for the Beavers vs. a Pac-10 opponent.

REBOUNDING A MUST: Oregon State is being outrebounded by an average 43.7 to 30.7 in three conference games.

BEAVERS ON THE ROAD IN THE PAC-10: Oregon State enters Saturday's game looking for its first road Pac-10 victory, other than at Washington or Washington State, since defeating California in Oakland (46-43) at The Arena March 5, 1998. Since that date, the Beavers have downed the Washington schools a combined five times on the road.
