Jan. 27, 2003

SEATTLE, Wash. - Boasting a 15-3 overall record, 7-2 against Pac-10 opponents, and an unblemished 9-0 mark at home, Washington women's basketball cracked the Associated Press Top-25 Poll for the first time this season. The Huskies made their 2002-03 season debut at No. 25 in this week's poll released today.

Washington is one of three Pac-10 teams in the Top-25, joined by No. 6 Stanford and No. 24 Arizona. Two of UW's three losses have come to Top-25 teams this year, Stanford and No. 8 Texas Tech. The last time the Huskies received a Top-25 billing in the AP poll was Nov. 24 of last season (2001-02).

The Huskies close out a four-game homestand this week, hosting USC, Thursday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. and UCLA, Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. The Trojans are coming off a 75-72 upset of Stanford, while the Bruins handed the Huskies their other remaining loss this season.
