CAL CHANGES VENUE, HEADS NORTH FOR HUSKY INVITE
After two consecutive indoor meets at Boise State's Jackson Track Center, the University of California men's and women's track and field teams head to Seattle, Wash. to compete at the Husky Invitational Sat., Feb. 1. The exciting meet features 68 participating teams, including several club squads that showcase Olympians. The event begins at 9 a.m. with the men's 60m dash and concludes with the women's 5000m run.

THE FIELD
Full collegiate teams that are slated to compete at the Husky Invitational, include UCLA, Stanford, Wisconsin and host Washington. USC and Southern Methodist are sending partial squads. The Cardinal boasts the highest ranked team among the bunch on the men's side as it stands at No. 5 on the Trackwire 25 poll. On the women's side UCLA's squad is No. 5, while Stanford's is No. 6. Five other teams at the meet are also currently ranked on Trackwire's Top 25 list.

The meet also features several Olympians, including two-time Olympic medallist John Godina (shot put) and 2000 U.S. Olympian Seilala Sua (shot put). Other members from the 2000 Olympic squad competing include seven-time All-American Michael Stember, five-time NCAA champion Brad Hauser and former Husky sprinter Ja'Warren Hooker.

CAL'S LAST TIME OUT
The Bears' men's and women's indoor track and field teams won three events at the Western Indoor Classic in Boise, Idaho last Saturday. The meet featured teams from Boise State, Stanford, Idaho State and Cal State Fullerton, among others. Senior Erin Belger's led the women's side with a win in the 800m (2:13.52). Senior Lache Bailey finished second in the 800m (2:13.95), while freshman Osarhiemen Omwanghe placed second in the 60mH (8.68). Redshirt freshmen Elzunia Lamb and Qadriyyah Abdullah finished second in the long jump (18-6) and triple jump (37-10.5), respectively. Senior Sheni Russell placed second in the shot put (45-63.50) to round out the women's runner-up finishes. On the men's side, junior Tim Bogdanof won the 60mH with a time of 8.06. The Bears' 4x400 men's relay team was victorious, winning the event in 3:15.36. Cal's men's team also posted second-place finishes in three other events. Senior Ahmad Wright finished second in the 400m (48.41). Freshman Teak Wilburn and junior Bruce Giron also garnered runner-up finishes, as Wilburn placed second in the high jump (6-10.75) and Giron finished second in the triple jump (47-8.50).

DID YOU KNOW
Senior Erin Belger and freshman Teak Wilburn are listed on the Trackwire 'Dandy Dozen' lists. The 'Dandy Dozen' lists are a power ranking of the top 12 athletes and relay squds in each NCAA event. Belger, who garnered wins in the 800m at both the Bandanna Indoor Invitational and Western Indoor Classic, ranks third under the 800m category. Wilburn had runner-up finishes in the high jump at the same two meets and ranks fifth on the men's 'Dandy Dozen' list.

CAL HOSTS ALL COMERS TRACK & FIELD SERIES
Every Saturday in February the Bears will host an all comers track & field meet. All events begin at 11 a.m., except the hammer which starts at 8:30 a.m. The meet is open to all age groups, high school, open and master athletes. The events will be grouped according to gender and ability level. Admission is $2 per person to the stadium.
