No. 25 Huskies Handle USC

SEATTLE (AP) - Giuliana Mendiola had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead No.25 Washington over Southern California 94-76 Thursday night.

Leading 60-59, the Huskies (16-3, 8-2 Pac-10) used a barrage of 3-pointshooting to pull away. Washington shot 57 percent from behind the 3-point linefor the game.

Mendiola, who was two assists shy of a triple-double, helped the Huskiesremain undefeated (10-0) at home this season. With the win, Washington sweptthe season series from Southern California (9-11, 4-6) for the second straightseason.

Ebony Hoffman scored 27 points as USC lost for the first time in four games.

Andrea Lalum sank five of her six 3-point attempts and finished with 19points for Washington. Loree Payne added 17 points.

Washington led at the half 36-30 behind Lalum's 10 points.

The Huskies are off to their best start since they went 16-2 during the1989-90 season. USC is 2-7 when playing ranked opponents this season.
