Men's Tennis Win First Round Of TCU Shootout Over Host Horned Frogs 4-1

FORT WORTH, Texas - No. 19 Washington men's tennis (3-0) pulled off its third-straight victory of the season, with a 4-1 win over host TCU in the first round of the TCU Shootout at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas, Saturday.
The Huskies won two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point, before winning the singles portion of the dual 3-1. UW advances to face Pepperdine Sunday at 10 a.m. CT, as the Waves defeated Arizona State 6-1 today.
The senior doubles pair of Matt Hanlin and Dillon Ruby defeated the TCU team of Rafael Abreu and Daniel Scholten 8-3, while freshman Fred Sundsten and junior Nick Weiss defeated Toni Gordon and Jacopo Tezza, 9-7. UW's No. 1 doubles team of senior Ari Strasberg and sophomore Alex Vlaski did not finish their match due to the fact that UW had already won the doubles competition.
Winning their singles matches for the Huskies were Hanlin over Alex Menichini (6-4, 6-1), sophomore Christoph Palmanshofer over Abreu (6-1, 6-3) and Ruby over Tezza (6-1, 6-3).
