Oregon Finishes 14th at Ping Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Oregon men's golf team dropped five places Tuesday after the final round of the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate Tournament to finish 14th overall. The Ducks shot 292 in the second round and finished with 288 in the third round, for a combined score of 866 after three rounds of play at the Arizona National Golf Course, a par 71, 6,793-yard layout.
Oregon senior John Ellis shot 2-under par 69 in the third round, finishing in a tie for 33rd place at 72-73-69-214. Senior Chris Carnahan shot par in both the second and third rounds to tie for 38th at 215.
Arizona won the tournament with a combined team score of 829. UCLA finished two stokes behind at 831. Individually, Chris Baryla, from Texas-El Paso, finished 10 strokes under par (68-66-69-203) to secure first place by a stroke over Arizona's Chris Nallen and was two better than the Wildcats' Ricky Barnes.
Next up for the Ducks is a trip to Kona, Hawaii, for the TaylorMade Waikoloa, begining Feb. 12.
