Wrestling Splits Two Duals on the Road

Feb. 7, 2003

FRESNO, Calif. - The Oregon wrestling team split a pair of duals in Fresno, Calif., against Menlo College and Fresno State. The Ducks (7-10, 5-3) won easily against the Menlo Oaks, 31-10, before falling to the Bulldogs, 19-12.

Martin Mitchell (125), Tony Overstake (149), Luke Larwin (165) and No. 11 Shane Webster (174) all won both of their matches on the day. Unfortunately, those were the only four wrestlers to pick up victories for the Ducks against Fresno State.

'We wrestled hard and tough, and it was an exciting match to watch,' head coach Chuck Kearney said. 'We just let a couple get away from of us.'

The Ducks were once again without junior Jason Harless, who was unable to travel with the team due to a knee injury.
