Women's Golf In 13th After First Round Of Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a team score of 311 (+27) on the first day of competition at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. and are currently in 12th place overall. Pepperdine leads the field with an even-par 284 on the afternoon. Rounding out the top five are UCLA (292), Oklahoma State (294), USC (296) and Oklahoma (300).
Junior Angela Rho and senior Kim Rowton led the Cardinal today, shooting a four-over par 75 on the afternoon. Teammate Stephanie Lue carded an 80 (+9) today and Wendra Liang had an 81 (+10). Junior Marcia Wallis turned in an 82 (+11).
UCLA's Charlotte Mayorkas fired a three-under par 68 and sits a top the individual leaderboard for the Bruins. Pepperdine's Katherine Hull is one stroke back (69) while Linda Wessberg, from Oklahoma State, and Lindsey Wright, from Pepperdine, are tied for third (70).
Tomorrow's round begins at 9 a.m. PT at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
