Arizona's Jung and Oregon's Harris Named Pac-10 Softball Player/Pitcher Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA senior Lovie Jung has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Softball Player of the Week, and OREGON freshman hurler Amy Harris has been named Pitcher of the Week for February 3 - February 9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Jung, from Fountain Valley, Calif., put together a .474 batting average over the w eekend, with five home runs, including a grand slam, and 11 RBI along with nine hits and eight runs scored. Jung is leading the Wildcats with a .471 averaged, seven homers and 18 RBI in 11 games played.
Harris, from Eugene, Ore., improved to 3-1 over the weekend, picking up wins versus No. 9-ranked Florida State and No.17-ranked Georgia. Harris had eight strikeouts in her two wins, giving up just one run. Against the Bulldogs, Harris pitched seven innings after coming in for relief in the sixth inning, and she struck out five, allowing no hits to seal the win for the Ducks.
It is the first weekly award for Harris, the 18th all-time honor for the Ducks. For Jung, it is her first weekly award, the 74th all-time for the Wildcats.
