<b>Oregon tied for sixth after round one</b>

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - The Oregon men's golf team is tied for 6th after first day of Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate 26-team tournament. The Ducks shot a 288 after round one at the par-70, 6,566 yard Waikoloa Resort Beach Golf Course. The tournament is being played on Waikoloa's two courses including the par-72, 6,594 yard Kings' Golf Course.
Four of the five Ducks scored between 70 and 74 on Wednesday. Oregon junior Mike Sica recorded an even par 70, 4-under the leader, during his first round of play. Senior Chris Carnahan is not far behind, tied for 21st with a score of 71. Gregg LaVoie, tied for 46th with 73 and John Ellis, tied for 62nd with 74. Junior Jimmy White carded an 83 for the day.
No. 3-ranked Texas Christian University leads the way recording a 276 on Wednesday. University of Oklahoma is five stokes behind at 281. Individually, the leaders are tightly packed with Ryan Baca of Baylor leading the way with 66.
Oregon will continue with round two on Thursday morning with a 6:45 a.m. shot-gun start.
