Pac-10 Notes

ARIZONA - Sophomore center Channing Frye tallied a career-high 25 points and a season-high 14 rebounds to go with three blocks and two steals in the win over USC...The win over USC was Arizona's 20th of the season, which extend the program's streak to 16 consecutive seasons with at least 20 wins. That is the longest active streak in the nation. It is the school's 26th 20-win season and the 25th in 30 seasons as a college head coach for Lute Olson. Only Dean Smith (30), Jerry Tarkanian (29), Jim Boeheim (24), Bob Knight (24) and Olson had as many as 24 20-win seasons heading into 2002-03...Arizona improved to 12-1 this season in Pac-10 play and posted a 4-0 record against both the L.A. schools for the first time since the 1992-93 season...Senior guard Jason Gardner connected on 4-of-9 three-point field goal attempts Saturday to become the first player in Arizona history to notch 300 career treys (he has 301). Incidentally, Gardner hit 8-of-16 three-point attempts this week to boost his season percentage behind the arc to .363 (49-of-135)...Arizona held UCLA and USC to a combined 36.2 percent shooting (47-of-130) from the field. In Saturday win vs. USC, Arizona limited the Trojans to just 30.6 percent (22-of-72) shooting from the field, which was a UA opponent season low. Arizona has held nine opponents to less than 40 percent shooting this season...Freshman Andre Iguodala's offensive output continues to show marked improvement, as he averaged 13.5 points and 2.0 assists this week.

ARIZONA STATE - Freshman center Ike Diogu is averaging 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in the past six games and has nine 20-point games on the season. He is the first Sun Devil freshman to post back-to-back 25-point games, with 26 points vs. USC and UCLA. He averaged 26.0 points in the sweep of the LA schools, or exactly 1.0 ppl. That would be point per letter of his full name (Ikechukwa Somotochukwa Diogu)...The Sun Devils have shot 155-of-208 (.745) from the free throw line in the past eight games. The 90.9 percent shooting against UCLA on Saturday (20-of-22) is the tenth-best mark in school history...ASU has outrebounded 10 of its past 11 opponents and is outrebounding opponents by 8.8 boards per game in that span...ASU has won four straight Pac-10 games for the first time since February of 2000 and for the just the second time in the past eight seasons...Senior back-up point guard Kyle Dodd is shooting 35-of-65 (.538) from the field this year and had 14 points Saturday vs. UCLA, second-best in his career. He has 23 assists and just four turnovers in his past four games...Senior guard Curtis Millage has made 34-of-41 (.829) from the free throw line in the past eight games and is 70-of-137 (.511) from the field in the past 12 games. Millage is averaging 16.5 points in Pac-10 play....Senior forward Tommy Smith became the 28th member of the Arizona State 1,000-point club on Saturday. He now has 1,014 career points...The 66.4 opponent points per game is the best by an ASU defense since the 1983-84 team gave up 65.2 ppg.

CALIFORNIA - Cal's home court winning streak has reached 17 consecutive games, the third longest in school history and currently tied for sixth among active streaks in the nation...Senior guard Brian Wethers saw his streak of scoring in double figures end at 21 games. Now only teammate Joe Shipp, Oregon's Luke Ridnour and Arizona State's Ike Diogu have scored in double figures in every game this season...Senior forwar Joe Shipp has played in 118 games during his Cal career, which ties him for eighth on Cal's career list for games played... Junior guard A.J. Diggs has 46 steals this season and needs four more to crack the school's single-season top 10 list... Freshman guard Richard Midgley has connected on 14-of-28 from three-point range over the last 10 games...Freshman forward Erik Bond tied his season-high with seven points vs. Washington.

OREGON - Junior guard Luke Ridnour established a Pac-10 free throw accuracy record as he has connected on 51 consecutive attempts. It's the third time in three years that the record has been broken. He eclipsed the mark of 49 consecutive free throws made by Stanford's Ryan Mendez during the 2001 season. USC's David Bluthenthal briefly held the mark during the 2001 season after connecting on 41 straight free throw attempts...Ridnour needs 35 assists to break Ron Lee's single-season Oregon record (184)...Junior guard James Davis leads the Pac-10 with 67 three-pointers, averaging 2.91 three-point field goals per game. The 67 three-pointers rank ninth on the Oregon single-season best list...Over the last five games, Oregon is shooting 85-of-92 (.924) from the free throw line. Over the last eight games, it's 113-of-127 (.890).

OREGON STATE - Senior center Philip Ricci leads the Pac-10 in rebounding at 8.7 rebounds per game. Should he lead the league at the end of the season, he would become the first Beaver to do so since A.C. Green grabbed 9.2 boards per game in 1985...Senior forward Brian Jackson is shooting 302-401 (.771) from the free throw line for his career. That ranks ninth on the OSU career list. Jackson is 20th on OSU's career scoring list with 1,139 points...Freshman guard Lamar Hurd continues to lead all Pac-10 freshman in minutes played, averaging 33.3 minutes per game. At his current pace, Hurd would end the season with 899 minutes played, only Gary Payton (1115), and Eric Knox (914), have had more minutes as a Beaver freshman...Oregon State enters the week with the lowest turnovers per game average in the Pac-10 Conference at 13.6. The team has averaged just 10.2 over the last five games, including a season-low six vs. Oregon last Saturday.

STANFORD - The Cardinal need one more victory to post their ninth consecutive 20-win season...The Cardinal have posted 10 or more wins in Pac-10 play for the ninth consecutive season. As a team, the Cardinal have only posted seven or more steals in a game eight times this season...The Cardinal have four players with 20 or more steals in a season for the first time since 1994.

UCLA - Sophomore forward Andre Patterson leads the Pac-10 in field goal percentage (.651). Should he lead that category at the end of the season, he would be the first Bruin to do so since Jelani McCoy (.756) in 1997...With one more three-pointer, senior forward Jason Kapono will join Arizona's Jason Gardner in eclipsing 300 career three-pointers. The Pac-10 single-season record is 323 set by Arizona State's Stevin Smith (1991-94)...Kapono needs 40 points to reach 2,000 for his career, becoming the fourth UCLA player and 14th Pac-10 player to reach 2,000 points...UCLA's game vs. California on Thursday night will be the 600th in Pauley Pavilion history (525-74, .876)...Stanford has the longest winning opponent streak in Pauley Pavilion (five games, 1998-2002)... The Bruins were swept in the season series by both Arizona schools for the first time in the Pac-10's current 10-team format.

That's 37.7 percent of the team's total. Over the last four games, the freshmen have tallied 131 of the team's 284 points, good for 46.1 percent...The Huskies join California and Oregon State with each having three players averaging 12.0 points or better. The Husky trio includes junior Doug Wrenn (12.9 ppg), sophomore Will Conroy (12.5 ppg) and freshman Nate Robinson (12.4 ppg).
