Cal In Seventh After Two Rounds at John Burns Invitational

Junior Peter Tomasulo stands in second place after two rounds at the John Burns Invitational, held in Wahiawa, HI, leading the California men's golf team to a seventh place status at the par-72 Leleihua Golf Course. The Golden Bears shot an even 288 in Thursday's round, for a total two-under par 574.

Leading the 19-team tournament is Arizona, 13 strokes below par (563) and three strokes ahead of second place San Diego State (566).

Tomasulo's five-under par 139 (68-71) sits two strokes behind individual leader Casey Fowles (69-68=137) of Utah.

Cal's Jeff Hood shot a twin round of 71 (71-71=142), tying for 16th place, while Eric West is tied for 38th place (71-74=145), Jesse Ruda is tied for 61st (76-73=149) and Michael Wilson is tied for 77th (79-73=152).

The third and final round begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
