ASU - UA Men's Basketball Game Establishes Fox Sports Arizona Ratings Record

Last Saturday night's University of Arizona/Arizona State Universitybasketball game attracted not only the fourth largest crowd ever at ASU'sWells Fargo Arena, but it also shattered the previous record for the highesttelevision rating ever for a college basketball game on Fox Sports NetArizona.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the telecast generated a 5.1rating (8 share) in the Phoenix market. This number means that an average of78,400 Valley households tuned in to watch top-ranked Arizona's 92-72 winover the Sun Devils. Rating figures are not available for Tucson since it isnot a metered Nielsen market.
The previous all-time ratings mark for a college basketball game onFox Sports Net Arizona was a 4.2 (65,000 households), which was establishedin this season's first match-up between Arizona & Arizona State in Tucson(Jan. 22, 2003). Prior to that, the top rating was a 3.9 (Stanford/Arizonain Tucson - March 9, 2000).
The Wildcats make an appearance on this week's edition of Fox SportsNet's Pac-10 Thursday when they face California in Berkeley at 8:30 p.m.MST. The Sun Devils then play California on FSN this Sunday, March 2, at1:30 p.m. MST.
