TEEING OFF: Oregon State travels to Salinas, Calif. for the 2003 Spartan Invitational, hosted by San Jose State. Teams are slated to play 36 holes Tuesday, Mar. 4, and 18 Wednesday, Mar. 5 for a total of 54. Teams consist of five players, with the low four scores counting toward the team total in each round. An 8 a.m. shotgun start begins play each day.

THE COURSE: The par-72, 5,938-yard Corral de Tierra Country Club again plays host to the Spartan Invitational.

THE FIELD: Of the 14 teams, four are ranked 13th or higher in the Golfweek rankings. Heading the list are California (ranked 7th), Pepperdine (9), Washington (10), and UCLA (13), followed by UNLV, Arizona State, San Jose State, Oregon State (47), San Francisco, Long Beach State, Oregon, UC-Irvine, Hawaii, and CS-Monterey Bay. California is the defending champion.
