UW Women's Swimming Places Seventh at Pac-10 Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - - The University of Washington women's swimming team placed seventh tonight at the 2003 Pac-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center. The Huskies finished with 578.5 points.

The dynamic duo of senior Kim Harada and freshman Sharon Olson led the night again for the Huskies. Harada swam a season best of 49.17 seconds in the 100 freestyle for a second place finish. Olson placed seventh in the 1650 freestyle relay with a time of 16:49.71.

The 400 freestyle relay team composed of Sharon Olson, Kim Harada, Liya Liu and Melody Staubitz tied the Huskies all-time best of 3:25.85 for a fifth place finish. Anissa Hilyard placed eighth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.06.

The 2003 Pac-10 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships take place on March 6-8 in Long Beach, California.
