Men's Golf 10th After Two Rounds At Cleveland Golf Classic

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Michael Jurgensen shot a two-round score of 143 and Oregon State posted a team score of 581 Monday at the Cleveland Golf Classic at the North Ranch Country Club. The Beavers, currently in 10th place, wrap up the tournament with 18 holes Tuesday.
'We got off to a good start and played well, but we just had two or three bad holes this afternoon,' Oregon State head coach Brian Watts said. 'We just lost confidence hole-by-hole, but we managed to finish strong.'
Jurgensen is tied for 14th with three other golfers at 1-over-par. The OSU senior shot a 1-under-par 70 first round and was 2-over-par in the second.
Roy Moon of UCLA is the top individual with a 138. Five golfers are tied for ninth at 142, one shot in front of Jurgensen.
Kenny Coakley is tied for 28th after shooting a 146. Coakley is one shot back of being in a tie for 21st. Sean Deacon was one stroke behind Coakley, with a 147, and is tied for 37th. Daren Greig went from 67th after a first-round 76 to a tie for 47th after shooting a 72 in his second round., and Brian Kelley is tied for 79th with a score of 153.
OSU posted a 291 in the first round and followed that with a 290. UCLA leads the 17-team field with a 566. Nine schools are within 10 shots of second place California (573).
'We were tied for eighth after the first round, but just couldn't make any puts,' Watts said. 'Hopefully we will get the puts to fall Tuesday and be okay.'
Play resumes 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Kelley is scheduled to tee off around 9 a.m., and will be followed by Greig, Deacon, Coakley and Jurgenson.
