Stanford Rolls Over Tulane

STANFORD, Calif. - The sixth-ranked Stanford men's tennis team picked up the 999th win in program history with a 7-0 win over 29th-ranked Tulane on Wednesday afternoon at the Taube Tennis Center. The Cardinal improved to 8-2 with its third straight victory, while the Green Wave fell to 6-4.

Stanford will shoot for all-time win No. 1,000 on Friday when it visits No. 50 Arizona at 12:30 p.m. (PT) in Tucson. The Cardinal will then take on No. 48 Arizona State on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (PT) in Tempe.

The Cardinal swept all six singles matches, with the victories at Nos. 2-6 coming in straight sets. At No. 1, 112th-ranked Stanford senior Scott Lipsky (Merrick, NY) recorded an impressive 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory over 17th-ranked Michael Kogan.

Stanford also claimed the doubles point with 8-3 victories at both No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 1, the Green Wave's seventh-ranked duo of Kogan and Victor Romero defeated fifth-ranked Lipsky and David Martin (Tulsa, OK) 9-8 (5).
