Mackenzie Named to Hogan Award Watch List

Seattle - Washington junior All-American Brock Mackenzie has been named to the 2003 Hogan Award watch list. The Hogan Award, named for legendary golfer Ben Hogan, is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate golfer. . It marks the second consecutive year he has been considered for the award.

The awarded is presented by the Colonial Golf Club and the Friends of Golf in cooperation with Bank of America and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The Hogan Award takes into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period. This year's watch list includes 20 golfers, including the 2002 winner, D.J. Trahan of Clemson, U.S. Amateur Champion Ricky Barnes and 2002 Palmer Award winners Troy Matteson of Georgia Tech and Chico State's J.J. Jakovac.

The Hogan Award selection committee will select 10 semifinalists on April 11 and name five finalists on April 25. The winner of the Hogan Award will be announced May 9 and the presentation banquet will be held at Colonial Country Club on May 19.
