Bob Milano Selected The Grand Marshall of Albany's 48th Annual Opening Day Parade

ALBANY, CA - Bob Milano, former head coach of the California baseball program from 1978-1999, has been selected by the Albany Chamber of Commerce to be the Grand Marshall of the 48th Annual Opening Day Parade in Albany on Saturday, Mar. 29.

The parade, which will feature all the boys and girls in Albany Little League Baseball and Albany-Berkeley Girl's Softball, will begin at 11 a.m. and march down Albany's Solano Avenue to the Opening Day Ceremonies at U.C. Village.

Milano is the winningest coach in Cal baseball history, accumulating 688 victories in 22 seasons, including leading the Bears to six NCAA regional berths and three College World Series appearances. He was named Pacific-10 Conference Southern Division Co-Coach of the Year in 1980 and 1992, and also served as the head coach of the USA National Baseball Team that placed fourth at the 1997 Intercontinental Cup in Barcelona, Spain.
