Arizona's Beyschau to be honored at Friday's home finale

Tucson, Ariz. (March 13) - The No. 18 University of Arizona women's gymnastics team will honor senior team captain Nikki Beyschau in the final home meet of the season against Oklahoma on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. (MST) in McKale Center.
Friday's meet will be 'Senior Night,' honoring Beyschau for her four years of leadership and dedication to the Arizona program. Beyschau, a Glendale, Ariz. native, joined the Arizona gymnastics program in 1999 and has left her mark on the school's record books.Beyschau's career-high 9.950 on vault stands as the fourth-best mark in school history and her career-high 9.950 on bars is the third-best individual score in school history.
So far this season, Beyschau has five top-five event finishes, including season-highs of 9.650 on vault and 9.875 on bars.
'Nikki brings a world of experience, the ability to work through adversity and is able to maintain her goals and remain driven,' head coach Bill Ryden said. 'Things have not been easy for Nikki. She has come through a lot of adversity and is a tough gymnast.'
'She has been dealt a lot of short hands and has been able to come through them. No matter what, she is a gymnast who will keep going. She has served every role for our team, from all-arounder, to specialist to cheerleader. Her presence emotionally and competitively, has been felt since she has arrived here,' Ryden said.
Arizona will next travel to Denver, Colo. for its final meet of the regular season to take on Denver and West Virginia on Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. (MST).
