March 13, 2003

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Fresh off an impressive performance at the Pac-10 Championships two weeks ago, junior Josh Anderson dictated the pace for Arizona during day one of the Zone E Diving Championships from the Oklahoma City College Community Pool. The 2002 honorable mention All-America pulled off an impressive fourth-place finish in the 1-meter springboard with 613.75 points, to lead all Wildcat participants.

Elsewhere, sophomore Alex Vollelunga garnered 538.80 points, good enough for 11th place. Following him was senior captain Scott Koenig placed 16th with a score of 493.45 pts.

The Wildcat women's divers only competed in the trials of the 3-meter springboard, the finals will be later in the competition.

Each of the divers that place in the top 3 at the Zone E's will automatically receive an invitation to the NCAA Championships later in March. The Wildcat women begin their NCAA's next weekend from Auburn, Ala. Arizona's men will travel to Austin, Texas the following week for their 2003 NCAA Championships.
