No. 17 Bears (12-4, 2-4) Defeat UC Davis, 195.925-190.850

Davis, Calif. - The California women's gymnastics team (12-4, 2-4) defeated UC Davis for the third time this year, 195.925* - 190.850, this evening, March 14 at Recreation Hall in Davis. Junior Stephanie Kim posted a career-high 9.925 on the floor to take first place and secure the second highest mark in school history.
Cal's My-Lan Dodd easily won the individual all-around with her 39.475 effort. She also won on bars with a 9.875, shared first place on beam with a 9.850, and tied for second on vault (9.850) and floor (9.900). The Golden Bears won each event of the meet, in their 12th victory of the year.
Freshman Monique Chang captured the vault title with a 9.900, as her five teammates finished second through sixth while recording the third best team score of all-time (49.125). Besides Dodd's first place finish on bars, the Bears finished third through fifth in the squad's lowest team score of the evening (48.475). On beam, Cal posted the third best score of all-time (49.150) and finished in the top four slots with freshman Britani Pittullo recording a career-high 9.850 in a tie for first. Kim's gold on floor (9.925) outdid Dodd's career-tying 9.900 mark in second place. Senior Janet McKnight tied her floor career high of 9.825 for a fifth-place finish.
The Bears also took the top three spots in the individual all-around as Kim (38.725) and Pittullo (38.575) finished behind Dodd in second and third, respectively.
The Bears return to action Friday, March 14 as the squad faces off against UC Davis at 7:30 p.m. in Davis, Calif.
