Pac-10 Softball Player/Pitcher Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -

OREGON sophomore secondbaseman Erin Goodell has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Softball Player of the Week, and ARIZONA freshman hurler Alicia Hollowell has been named Pitcher of the Week for March 10 -March 16, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Goodell, from Roseburg, Ore., went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored as the Ducks matched a season-high with 13 hits in a win over OREGON STATE. Goodell is the first player this season to hit two homers in a game for Oregon.

Hollowell, from Suisun, Calif., had a 0.00 ERA in four games at the Kia Klassic. She went 2-0 with two shutouts. In 15 innings pitched, she tossed 32 strikeouts. Against UNLV, she struck out a season-high 18 batters. Hollowell has eight double-digit strikeout performances on the year.

The No. 22-ranked Ducks (17-6, 1-0 in Pac-10) won 10-2 at No. 17 Oregon State in their Pac-10 opener. The No. 2 Wildcats (30-2), won four games at the Kia Klassic in Fullerton, Calif.

It is the first weekly award for Goodell and the 19th honor for the Ducks. It is the first honor for Hollowell, while the Wildcats have garnered 75 weekly honors all-time.
