Women's Golf Leads The Field After First Day Of Dr. Donnis Thompson Rainbow Tournament

Kaneohe, HI - The No. 9 USC women's golf team shot 19 over par on Tuesday to move into first place after two rounds of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Rainbow Tournament at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Club.

The Women of Troy shot 595 over 36 holes, eight strokes ahead of second place Arizona (603). Rollins College was third (606), followed by Kansas State (621) and Kentucky (626).

Senior All-American Mikaela Parmlid leads USC, shooting 143 (-1), good for second place behind Cassandra Kirkland of Arizona (142). Julia Kraschinski of Arizona is third (146), Miranda Smith of Kansas State is fourth (147) and Charlotte Campbell of Rollins and Laura Myerscough of Arizona is fifth (148).

Also for the Women of Troy, freshman Tanya Dergal is eighth (150), senior Becky Lucidi and freshman Irene Cho are tied for ninth (151) and junior Anna Rawson is 42nd (162). Junior Rachel Bell is competing as an individual and is tied for 43rd (163).

The tournament will close with Wednesday's final round, scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. HST
