The final day of the 11-team Sacramento Capital Classic was cancelled due to rain, calling off the sixth-ranked California softball team's 11 a.m. scheduled game versus Illinois. The Golden Bears posted a 4-1 record at the Classic, naming junior Eryn Manahan to the all-tournament team.

Cal had six batters with a .300 BA or better, led by Jessica Pamanian's .533 BA (8-15, one double, three runs, three RBIs). Also posting top-notch weekend averages were Veronica Nelson with a .500 BA (4-for-8, three runs, two home runs, four RBIs, 10 walks - seven of which were intentional) and Vicky Galindo with a .421 BA (8-for-19, six runs, three doubles, one home run, two RBIs, one walk and 3-for-3 in stolen bases).
On the mound, Cal came away with a team 0.88 ERA, assisted by Kelly Anderson's 0.75 ERA (1-0, 9.1 innings, eight hits, one earned run, seven strikeouts) and Kristina Thorson's 1.21 ERA (2-1, 17.1 innings, 11 hits, three earned runs, 28 strikeouts).
