Men's Golf Travels To Oregon Duck Invitational

On Tap: The Stanford men's golf team travels to the Pacific Northwest for the Oregon Duck Invitational, March 24-25 in Eugene, Oregon. The tournament will be played Monday and Tuesday at the 6,854-yards, par-72 Eugene Country Club with an 8 a.m. shotgun start both days.
The Field: Arizona, UCLA, San Jose State, Michigan State, Nevada, San Diego State, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Pepperdine, Hawaii-Hilo, Washington State, Washington, Northwestern, Oregon State, UC-Davis and host-Oregon.
Last Year At the Oregon Invite: Oregon won last year's Duck Invitational, played at Shadow Hills, by a stroke over Washington State. Stanford finished fifth with a three round total of 863 (289-282-292). Blake Mastalir finished with a 214 (72-70-72) after paring the final round to tie for 11th. Jim Seki also had a strong showing, tying for 16th with a 216 (74-69-73). George Downing (220) and Kevin Blue (230) finished the tournament tied for 29th and 73rd, respectively. Pat Phillips competed individually and tied for 52nd with a three-round total of 225 (75-71-79).
Last Time Out: The Stanford men's golf team fired a final round of 289 at the 2003 Cleveland Golf Classic in Westlake Village, Calif., to finished tied for fourth overall with a three-round score of 865. Senior Ron Won led the Cardinal, tying for 15th overall with a one-over par 214 (76-67-71) for the tournament. Jim Seki finished a stroke back at 215 (68-71-76) to tie for 17th. George Downing posted a score of 218 (73-74-71) while teammate Kevin Blue tied for 48th with a 221 (77-73-71). Blake Mastalir tied for 84th with a 230 (74-77-79). Pat Phillips, competing as an individual, tied for 54th overall with a 222 (69-77-76).
Up Next:: Stanford will take part in the Western Intercollegiate, April 7-8, in San Jose, Calif.
