Morgan Tied for First at UCLA Golf Classic

Santa Clarita, CA - Washington junior Lindsay Morgan is tied for first at 1-under 71 after the opening round of play at the UCLA Golf Classic. Morgan shares the lead with USC's Mikaela Parmlid. The Huskies are tied with Oregon State for 10th at 25-over 313.

Washington's other scores included a 78 by Louise Friberg for 35th place; an 81 by Sung Ea Lee for 59th; an 83 by Michelle Grafos for 75th and a 91 by Katie Kofmehl for 99th.

California grabbed the early lead after shooting 8-over 296 to hold a four-stoke lead over UCLA's 'B' team. Pepperdine and USC are tied for third place, eight shots behind the Golden Bears.

The second round of the tournament will be held Tuesday and the final 18 holes will be played Wednesday at the Robinson Ranch Valley Course.
