Women's Golf Tied For Third After First Day Of Pioneer Bruin Classic

Santa Clarita, Calif. - Senior All-American Mikaela Parmlid shot one-under-par 71 on Monday to tie for the overall lead as the No. 9 USC women's golf team finished tied for third after one round of the Pioneer Electronic Bruin Classic held at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course.

Parmlid and Lindsay Morgan of Washington are tied for first at 71. Sarah Huarte of California is third at 72. Four others are tied for fourth. Parmlid is looking for her fourth career title, third of the season and second in a row.

The Women of Troy shot 304 (+16) and are tied with Pepperdine for third, eight strokes behind California (296). The UCLA 'B' team is second at 300.

Also for USC, Ireno Cho is tied for 14th (75), Anna Rawson and Rachel Bell are tied for 41st (79) and Tanya Dergal is tied for 86th (86).

The second round of the tournament begins on Tuesday, with the final round coming on Wednesday.
