Men's Swimming Completes Day Two At NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - Washington closed out day two competition of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships with three top-30 finishes.
Derek Rose (Forest Grove, Ore.) swam two events for Washington today, placing 29th in both. Rose nearly duplicated his 32-seed time (48.33) in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.36 but fell short of his 23-seed time of 48.13 in the 100 backstroke by one second (49.13).
Luke Ekhoff (Portland, Ore.) topped his 42nd place finish in the 200 IM last night with a 28th place finish in the 100 breaststroke (55.18). Ekhoff was seeded 33rd in the event (55.12).
Justin Adrian (Bremerton, Wash.) joined Rose in the 100 butterfly and swam to a disappointing 38th place finish (48.80). Adrian had been seeded 12th in the race (47.25).Ekhoff will swim the final event for UW on Saturday, swimming the 200 breaststroke as the ninth seed with a time of 1:56.88. Last season, he finished ninth in the event to garner All-America honors.
