CAL TRAVELS SOUTH FOR YELLOW JACKET INVITATIONAL
The University of California men's and women's track and field teams are on the road again this weekend, ready to compete at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech Sat., Apr. 5 in Atlanta. Field events start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and the first running event is the women's 3,000m steeplechase at 1 p.m.

A HOMECOMING OF SORTS
Cal head coach Chris Huffins is very familiar with the Rambling Wreck's George C. Griffin Track. In 2000, Huffins was hired as an assistant coach at Georgia Tech, where he coached the sprints, throws, pole vault and the combined events. Under his direction, new school records were set in the women's pole vault, weight throw, hammer and shot put and the men's weight throw, hammer and javelin.

RECAP & RESULTS
While a complete Cal recap will be posted at www.calbears.com on Saturday, Georgia Tech will also provide live results on their website at www.ramblingwreck.com.

GIRMAY GUANGUL BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD IN 10,000mSophomore Girmay Guangul broke Cal's 10,000m record in a Pac-10 qualifying time of 29:17.78 at last weekend's Stanford Invitational. The previous record was 29:24.3, set by Rich McCann at the 1981 Mt. SAC Relays.
