Pac-10 Notes: ARIZONA (3-3, 22-10), ranked 21st by Collegiate Baseball, will face Miami (Ohio) this weekend in a three-game homestand ... The Wildcats are coming off a series against UCLA in which they dropped two of three ... The Bruins (2-1, 16-16) remain at home for the second week in a row to face Conference foe, CALIFORNIA (4-2, 17-13) ... The Golden Bears, along with the STANFORD Cardinal share the best record in the Pac-10 at 4-2 ... STANFORD (4-2, 18-9) jumped two spots in Collegiate Baseball's latest poll to No. 4 after claiming its second consecutive Pac-10 series ... ARIZONA STATE (3-3, 34-6) ranks seventh, fifth and third in Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and Sports Weekly/ESPN polls, respectively ... The Sun Devils have a light week as they face New Mexico and Grand Canyon over the span of five days ... USC (2-4, 14-16) also takes a break from Conference action, facing UC Riverside on April 1st ... WASHINGTON (1-2, 19-9) returns home for the first time since March 16 to face OREGON STATE in a three-game series ... The Beavers (1-2, 13-13) have a mid-week game against Portland before traveling to Seattle ... WASHINGTON STATE (1-2, 8-19), winners of three of its last five games, notched victories last weekend over UC Irvine by scores of 8-4 and 4-2 ... The Cougars will play host to Stanford beginning Fri., April 4.

Arizona won the last of a three-game series played at Jackie Robinson Stadium by a score of 12-10 over UCLA ... The Wildcats are ranked 21st by Collegiate Baseball, a four-spot drop from last week ... The team takes a break from Pac-10 action to go head-to-head with Miami (Ohio) beginning Fri., April 4 ... Arizona is at home for its next seven contests, including games against Washington and Sacramento State ... Junior righty Sean Rierson, who came out of the bullpen on Sun., March 30, picked up his fifth win of the season ... Rierson gave up only one run on three hits, while walking none and striking out one Bruin batter ... Junior Brian Anderson also had a good game, going 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the lone win against the Bruins.
ARIZONA STATE (3-3, 34-6)Last Week: vs. USC W, 11-4; L, 6-5; L, 7-5This Week: New Mexico, Grand Canyon
Arizona State picked up two wins over USC in Los Angeles last weekend to win its first Conference series of the 2003 season ... The series win also marked the first time in 10 years that ASU won at least a pair of games at Dedeaux Field ... The Sun Devils have two games this week, New Mexico and Grand Canyon, both of which will be played at Packard Stadium ... Although ASU dropped four spots in Baseball America's latest poll, the Sun Devils still remain in the Top-10 in all three polls, ranked as high as No. 3 according to Sports Weekly/ESPN ... Junior right-hander Ryan Schroyer continues to dominate out of the bullpen, having amassed a 4-2 record and a 1.07 ERA, good enough to lead the team ... The pitching staff as a whole, owns an impressive 3.44 ERA through 40 games played thus far.
CALIFORNIA (4-2, 17-13)Last Week: vs. Sacramento State L, 7-6; vs. Oregon State L, 8-6; W, 8-6; W, 19-13This Week: Sacramento State, *UCLA
Tied for the best record in the Conference at 4-2, the Golden Bears are coming off a weekend in which they notched two victories over Oregon State by scores of 8-6 and 19-13 ... After a mid-week game against Sacramento State, the second time the Bears have faced the Hornets in as many weeks, Cal will travel to Los Angeles to face UCLA in a three-game series ... As a team, Cal hit well in the OSU series, combining for a .345 average with eight doubles, eight home runs and 32 RBI ... Junior Conor Jackson swung the bat well last week at Sacramento State and Oregon State, going 5-for-12 with a double, home run and eight RBI ... On Mar. 25 at Sacramento State, Jackson went 1-for-2 and hit a grand slam, the third grand slam of his college career.
OREGON STATE (1-2, 13-13)Last Week: vs. California W, 8-6; L, 8-6; L, 19-13This Week: Portland, *Washington
The Beavers evened their record at 13-13 last weekend with a three-game series at home against California ... OSU notched the first win of the series by a score of 8-6 ... After a game against Portland on Tues., April 1, the team will travel to Seattle to face Washington beginning Fri., April 4 ... The two teams met previously this season in non-conference action, the Huskies claiming both games by identical 9-5 scores ... On Sun., March 30 in their game against Cal, the Beavers rallied from an 11-run deficit to cut the margin to 16-13, after being down 15-4 ... Junior outfielder Seth Pietsch continues to carry the hot bat for Oregon State, going 9-for-17 (.529) last week with one double, one triple, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored ... Pietsch leads the team with a .388 batting average.
STANFORD (4-2, 18-9)Last Week: vs. Washington L, 5-3; W, 10-6, W, 12-11This Week: USF, *Washington State
Stanford jumped two spots in Collegiate Baseball's latest poll, from No. 6 to No. 4 in the country ... The Cardinal took two of three games last weekend against the Washington Huskies to improve to 18-9 overall ... Junior outfielder Carlos Quentin hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to notch a dramatic 12-11 win in the last game of the series ... Stanford is tied atop the Pac-10 standings with California with a record of 4-2 in Conference play ... Freshman Mark Romanczuk pitched his first career complete game in a 4-2 win over Arizona State on Mon., March 24 ... Romanczuk gave up just five hits and two runs, while striking out five Sun Devil batters ... Outfielder Sam Fuld had three hits in last Sunday's game, extending his season-long hit streak to 11 games.
UCLA (2-1, 16-16)Last Week: vs. Long Beach State L, 2-0; vs. Arizona W, 6-4; W, 7-5; L, 12-10This Week: *California
UCLA went 2-2 last week picking up two wins over Conference opponent and 17th-ranked Arizona in Los Angeles at Jackie Robinson Stadium ... The Bruins are ranked third in the Pac-10 with a 2-1 league record ... The team will face California at home in a three game series beginning Fri., April 4 ... On Sat., March 29, the Bruins got back-to-back home runs from Billy Susdorf and Wes Whisler to go ahead 6-0 over the Wildcats, before eventually winning the game, 7-5 ... UCLA ranks sixth in the Conference with a .292 team batting average in 1065 at bats ... The Bruins have amassed 311 hits, 59 doubles, 34 home runs and 193 RBI.
USC (2-4, 14-16)Last Week: vs. Fresno State L, 11-9; vs. Arizona State L, 11-4; W, 6-5; L, 7-5This Week: UC Riverside
USC won the second game of a three-game series against Arizona State last week by a score of 6-5, snapping a four-game losing streak ... The Trojans are now 2-4 overall in Pac-10 play ... The team has just one game this week and it is a non-conference matchup against UC Riverside at home ... Senior shortstop Anthony Lunetta went 11-for-16 (.689) in four games last week with a home run, three doubles and three RBI ... He has a nine-game hitting streak (.528 - 19-for-36) and now leads the team with a .363 average ... Lunetta has also hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games ... Freshman Catcher Jeff Clement needs just one home run to become the first freshman in Southern California history to hit 15 or more home runs in a season.

The Huskies opened Pac-10 play with a 5-3 win over eighth-ranked Stanford at Sunken Diamond on Fri., March 28 ... Starter Sean White won his fourth consecutive outing for UW, not allowing a run until the eighth inning, while walking none and striking out six ... The Huskies also picked up two wins over non-conference opponent Portland last week by a combined 19 runs ... Washington will face Oregon State in a three-game series beginning Fri., April 4 ... Senior Tila Reynolds leads the team in hits with 36 and ranks fifth in batting average at .324 ... Having started in 27 games at shortstop this season, Reynolds has notched 62 assists, turned eight double plays and has a .960 overall fielding percentage.
WASHINGTON STATE (1-2, 8-19)Last Week: vs. UC Irvine W, 8-4; L, 4-0; W, 4-2This Week: Gonzaga, *Stanford
Washington State, winners of three of its last five games, picked up two victories over UC Irvine last weekend by scores of 8-4 and 4-2 on Friday and Sunday, respectively, giving the Cougars their first series win of the 2003 season ... Starter Aaron MacKenzie had another solid game on Sun., March 30 in which he pitched eight innings, allowing just two run on six hits ... MacKenzie is now 2-3 on the season ... WSU has a mid-week contest against Gonzaga in Spokane and will then play host to Stanford as the Cardinal comes up for a three-game Pac-10 series beginning Fri., April 4 ... Junior Justin Hart leads the team with a .327 batting average in 21 games played ... Hart has amassed 18 hits, one double, one triple and one home run in 55 at bats.
