No. 7 Stanford To Host No. 4 California On Tuesday

STANFORD TO HOST THREE PAC-10 MATCHES AT THE TAUBE TENNIS CENTER: The seventh-ranked Stanford men's tennis team continues its season-long six-match homestand with Pac-10 tilts against California, Arizona State and Arizona this week at the Taube Tennis Center ... The Cardinal (15-3 overall, 2-0 Pac-10) will host No. 4 California (16-2, 2-0) on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., No. 40 Arizona State (8-9, 3-1) on Friday at 1:30 p.m. No. 52 Arizona (8-8, 2-2) on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ... This will be the second time the Cardinal has faced off with these three schools this season ... Stanford lost at California 4-3 on Feb. 1, won at Arizona 6-1 on March 7 and won at Arizona State 5-2 on March 8.
TEAM NOTES: Stanford picked up the 1,000th dual win in program history on Friday, March 7 with a 6-1 victory at Arizona ... The Cardinal is 1,006-321-4 since official records began being kept in 1926, including 747 wins under current head coach Dick Gould ... Stanford won 10 straight dual matches from Feb. 22-April 4, including six wins over teams ranked in the top 50 ... The highlights in the streak included a 4-2 win over then-No. 18 Texas A&M at the National Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 22, a 7-0 home triumph over then-No. 29 Tulane on March 5 and a 7-0 home victory over defending NCAA Champion USC on April 4 ... The Cardinal is 7-1 at home this season, including four wins over top 40 opposition ... The Cardinal concludes the 2002-03 regular season home schedule against Pepperdine on Tuesday, April 15 at 1:30 p.m. ... It will be the final regular season home match for seniors Scott Lipsky (Merrick, NY) and David Martin (Tulsa, OK).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES: Stanford currently has four players ranked in the top 65 in the nation in singles, as well as two doubles teams ranked in the top 30 ... Senior David Martin is the highest ranked singles player at No. 12, while senior Scott Lipsky and Martin are ranked fourth in doubles.
