UCLA To Compete In Afternoon Session At NCAA Championships

In a random draw conducted by the NCAA, the UCLA gymnastics team was selected to compete in the preliminary afternoon session of the NCAA Championships (hosted by the University of Nebraska) on Thursday, Apr. 24 at 1:00 pm Central Time. The Bruins, winners of the South Central Regional, will compete against Central Regional winner Alabama, Northeast Regional winner Michigan, South Central Regional runner-up Iowa, Northeast Regional runner-up Arizona State and West Regional runner-up LSU.
Competing in the evening session at 7:00 pm CT are West Regional winner and host team Nebraska, North Central Regional winner Utah, Southeast Regional winner Georgia, Southeast Regional runner-up Florida, Central Regional runner-up Auburn and North Central Regional runner-up Stanford.
The top three finishers from each preliminary session will advance to the Super Six Team Finals on Friday, Apr. 25 at 7:00 pm CT.
The three-time NCAA champion Bruins will begin the preliminary meet on a bye before floor, the same rotation they had at the NCAA Regionals this year, and will end on the balance beam. LSU begins the meet on vault, Michigan on a bye before bars, Alabama on bars, Arizona State on beam, and Iowa on floor.
UCLA has now qualified for 12 consecutive NCAA Championships and 20 overall.
