Stanford Concludes Home Schedule Vs. Pepperdine On Tuesday

STANFORD WRAPS UP HOME SCHEDULE ON TUESDAY: The Stanford men's tennis team concludes its 2002-03 regular season home schedule against West Coast Conference champion Pepperdine (14-9, 3-1 WCC) on Tuesday, April 15 at 1:30 p.m. ... The Cardinal, which is 18-3 overall and has won 12 of its last 13, is 11-1 at home this season ... This will also be the final regular season home match for Stanford seniors Scott Lipsky (Merrick, NY) and David Martin (Tulsa, OK) ... Lipsky and Martin have been one of the top doubles teams in the nation for the last three seasons ... The senior reached the NCAA Doubles Semifinals in 2001, the NCAA Final in 2002 and are currently ranked second in the nation ... Both players are also accomplished in singles, as Martin was an NCAA Semifinalist last year and Lipsky also qualified for NCAAs a year ago.
PAC-10 RACE CONCLUDES THIS WEEKEND: Stanford wraps up the regular season this weekend with crucial Pacific-10 Conference matches at UCLA and USC ... The Cardinal visits the Bruins on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and the Trojans on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ... The Bruins and the Cardinal are tied for first place at 5-0, while California is second at 3-1.
TEAM NOTES: Next week, Stanford travels to the Pac-10 Individual Championships on April 24-27 in Ojai, California ... Stanford picked up the 1,000th dual win in program history on Friday, March 7 with a 6-1 victory at Arizona ... The Cardinal is 1,009-321-4 since official records began being kept in 1926, including 750 wins under current head coach Dick Gould ... Stanford currently has four players ranked in the top 80 in the nation in singles ... Martin leads the way at No. 12, followed by freshman KC Corkery (Manhattan Beach, CA) at No. 43, Lipsky at No. 61 and sophomore Sam Warburg (Sacramento, CA) at No. 76 ... Stanford needs just two more victories to post its 16th consecutive 20-win season.
