Cougars Take Two In Pullman

April 16, 2003

PULLMAN, Wash. --- The Washington State soccer team continued its strong spring showing by sweeping a pair of matches April 12 at Rogers Field in Pullman.

The Cougars defeated Gonzaga 3-1 and followed with a 1-0 shutout over Seattle Pacific. WSU is 6-0-1 this offseason, including wins over the Canadian Under-19 National Team, and Pac-10 foe Oregon State.

'We had seven full-game opportunities this spring and we are real pleased with the teams' progress,' Head Coach Dan Tobias said. 'This past weekend we used some different formations and saw some positive things that we feel will help our program this fall and beyond.

'We are excited about the last two weeks of spring and about hosting our Fifth Annual 7-A-Side,' Tobias said.

The schedule for WSU's Fifth Annual 7-A-Side Classic will be posted by April 21.
