Men's Golf Junior Varsity Finishes Ninth at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf junior varsity team carded a three-round total of 910 and finished in ninth place Wednesday at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
The Arizona JV shot a final round 302 (+22) and finished the 54-hole event in ninth place with a 910 (+70) total. Arizona State's junior varsity captured team honors in the 11-team field with an 871 (+31) total, two strokes ahead of the San Diego State JV.
Individually, the Wildcats were led by junior Nick Juszczak, who posted his low finish of the season with a tie for 13th place. He tallied a final-round 73 (+3) to finish the event with an 11-over 221 total. His 73 was Arizona's low round of the day. Joining Juszczak in the top 20 was sophomore Nathan Lashley, who tied for 18th place. The Scottsbluff, Neb., native carded consecutive 74 en route to a 222 (+12) total.
Also competing for the Wildcats was freshman Zack Amole, who tied for 39th place at 232 (+22), senior Brian Woolf, who tied for 49th place at 235 (+25), and freshman Blain Peffley, who finished in 54th place at 242 (+32).
The two-day event was contested at Talking Stick Golf Club's North Course, a par 70, 7,133-yard layout.
The Arizona varsity will next be in action April 28-30 at the 2003 Pacific-10 Conference Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.
