Cal in 12th Place After Two Rounds of U.S. Intercollegiate

The California men's golf team is in 12th place after two rounds of the U.S. Intercollegiate hosted by Stanford. The Golden Bears fired rounds of 300-285=585, +17 at the Stanford Golf Course, a par 71, 6,786-yard facility.

UCLA stands in a dominating 12-under par 556, nine strokes ahead of second place San Diego (565). The Bruins' Roy Moon leads the individuals with an 11-under par 131 (65-66).

The Bears are led by freshman Michael Wilson who is tied for 11th place (72-69-141=, -1). Junior Peter Tomasulo (75-70-145=, +3) and sophomore Jeff Hood (74-71-145=, +3) are tied for 30th. Round out Cal's five-man squad is freshman Eric West tied for 79th (79-75-154=, +12) followed by Jesse Ruda tied for 84th (80-76-156=, +14).

The third and final round of the 16-team U.S. Intercollegiate begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning with a shotgun start.
