Volleyball Names Janet Shibuya Chair Of Point Huskies Board

SEATTLE -- Janet Shibuya has been named chair of Point Huskies!, the Washington volleyball support group. Shibuya has been a volunteer with Husky volleyball since 1992 and helped establish the Point Huskies! board in 1995.
Point Huskies is an organization dedicated to supporting Washington's women's volleyball program. This support comes in many forms such as planning events for the players and their families; community outreach programs; and camps and clinics. The group is also relied upon to fundraise to financially enhance the volleyball program.
Shibuya is currently a basketball coach for 10-year old girls in Seattle and belongs to the Tyee and Key-100 organizations. She was also an active member of the Tyee Sports Council from 1992-1999 and holds season tickets to many Husky sports, including football, men's basketball and softball. Shibuya also received her undergraduate degree in Business from Washington.
'I am thrilled with the opportunity to chair Point Huskies Advisory Board,' said Shibuya. I look forward to working with the coaching staff, members of the athletic department and volunteers to provide the support to the Husky volleyball program that they need as they seek our goal of a national championship.'
