Men's Tennis At Pac-10 Championships Advance To Semifinals

OJAI - Calif. - Arizona State's duo of Olivier Charroin and Chris Stewart advanced to the semifinals in the doubles portion of the Pac-10 Championships while Pim Van Mele and Ryan McBride fell in the quarterfinals.
Olivier Charroin and Chris Stewart got the day off to a good start with a victory in the round of 16 over UCLA's Erfan Djahangiri and Alberto Francis 8-4 to reach the quarterfinals. Charroin and Stewart returned to action this afternoon in their bid to reach the semifinals. In completing their mission, Charroin and Stewart pulled out a tough match against Stanford's Scott Lipsky and David Martin 9-7.
Arizona State's other doubles duo of Pim Van Mele and Ryan McBride advanced to the quarterfinals with a 8-5 victory over UCLA's Rodrigo Grilli and Marcin Matkowski. In quarterfinals action, Van Mele and McBride fell to Stanford's K.C. Corkery and James Pade 8-4 in their bid to join Charroin and Stewart in the semifinals.
Charroin and Stewart will return to action Saturday afternoon where they will face off against Southern California's Parker Collins and Daniel Langre in their bid to reach the finals.

Charroin/Stewart (ASU) def. Djahangiri/Francis (UCLA) 8-4
Van Mele/McBride (ASU) def. Grilli/Matkowski (UCLA) 8-5

Charroin/Stewart (ASU) def. Lipsky/Martin (STAN) 9-7
Corkery/Pade (STAN) def. Van Mele/McBride (ASU) 8-4
