Men's Tennis Finishes Strong at Pac-10 Championships

OJAI, Calif. - The No. 66 Oregon men's tennis team won four of five matches on Saturday at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif. Three Ducks won in the singles back draw, and Oregon also won a doubles match on the day.

Chris King, Arron Spencer and Sven Swinnen all won their singles matches in the back draw. King and Swinnen won in straight sets against their opponents, while Spencer defeated Arizona State's Ryan McBride in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

Freshman Thomas Bieri suffered Oregon's only loss on the day, a tough three-setter to Arizona State's Chris Letcher. Bieri won the first set, but Letcher came back to win the match, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6. Letcher won the tiebreaker in the third set, 11-9.

In doubles action, Jason Menke and Arron Spencer were Oregon's only tandem to play, winning their match, 8-3, against Cal's pair of Pactrick and King.
