Men's Golf In Second At Pac-10 Championships

Glendale, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team fired rounds of 365 and 368 on the first day of competition at the 2003 Pac-10 Championships in Glendale, Calif., to sit in second place overall with a score of 733. UCLA currently leads the field with a seven stroke advantage over the Cardinal at six-over 726. Rounding out the top five are Washington (737), Arizona (740) and Arizona State (743).
Oregon State's Cameron MacKenzie holds a slim one stroke lead (140) over the defending conference individual champion, Stanford's Jim Seki, who carded a three-under 141 today. Four golfers are tied for third at one-under par 143.
Senior Ron Won is tied for 17th overall with a four-over par 148 (74-74) while teammates Kevin Blue (78-71) and Blake Mastalir (76-73) are tied for 23rd. Senior George Downing checks in tied for 36th with a 154 (75-79).
Third round action continues tomorrow at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif. with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
