The Athletic Department Presents a Large Check to the Faculty Emergency Fund for Students

April 29, 2003

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University Athletic Department presented a check for $15,670 to school President Tim White and ASOSU President Bridget Burns at last Saturday's (April 26) spring football game. The money was raised by ticket sales to the event.

All proceeds benefit the OSU Faculty Emergency Fund for Students. The OSU Faculty Senate approved the creation of an emergency fund that will help the general student body offset a surcharge required by the university to help fill a budget gap created by recent reductions in state appropriations.

'The entire athletic department would like to thank our great fans for helping in this worthy cause,' Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. 'The generosity of our fans continues to amaze me, and it's just one of many reasons why Oregon State University is such a special place.'
