UA Track & Field Sends Two Runners to Cardinal Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The University of Arizona's men's and women's track and field teams sent two runners to the Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University on Friday, May 2. Kyle Goklish for the UA men competed in the 10,000 meters, while Beth Hoge on the women's team ran in the 5,000 meters.
In the second section of the men's 10,000 meters, Arizona's Goklish finished seventh overall. He crossed the line in a time of 29:32.63, just off his previous season's best of 29:31.36. Goklish has already earned a NCAA provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships in June.
For UA's Hoge in the women's 5,000 meters, the task at hand was to improve her NCAA Regional and Pac-10 qualifying time. She finished fourth overall amongst some tough competition with a time of 16:23.34. She was just off of her previous best time of 16:21.86.
The rest of the Wildcats will travel to Phoenix on Saturday, May 3 for the annual double-dual meet against Arizona State and Northern Arizona University. Action is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. at Joe Sellah Track at Sun Angel Stadium.
