Football Season Tickets On Sale
May 6, 2003
Corvallis, Ore. - Football season ticket packages are on sale now for the 2003 season. A campaign of seven home games, the return of head coach Mike Riley, and several postseason honors candidates are just part of what is expected to be an exciting 50th anniversary of Reser Stadium.
The Beavers open the season with a special Thursday night home game against the Sacramento State Hornets Aug. 28. The remaining home games include perennial Pac-10 Conference powerhouse Washington, 2002 bowl participants Arizona State and Boise State, Arizona, Stanford, and New Mexico State.
The program is attempting to play in its fourth bowl game in the last five years, and with the second-highest number of returning starters in the conference, the chances that Riley will lead the Beavers to a 13th game are excellent.
Leading the cast for 2003 will be preseason All-American running back Steven Jackson. Jackson accounted for a Pac-10 Conference high 1,690 rushing yards as a sophomore, earned first team all-league, and was selected to several All-American teams. Jackson is joined this season by fellow all-conference players Richard Seigler, Dwan Edwards, James Newson, Bill Swancutt, and Kirk Yliniemi.
Season tickets may be purchased by calling the OSU Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-462-3287 (Go Beavs), or in Corvallis at 541-737-4455. Approximately 2,500 tickets remain of a total of 23,000. Tickets remain for all plans.
