Pac-10 Multi-Events Championships To Be Held At USC This Weekend

Los Angeles, Calif. - USC's Cromwell Field at Katherine B. Loker Stadium is the site for the first weekend of the 2003 Pacific-10 Conference Track & Field Championships, May 10-11, as the Heptathlon and Decathlon competitions bring approximately two dozen of the conference's best multi-events athletes to Los Angeles.
Admission is free for the events, which begin on Saturday with the Decathlon at 2 p.m., while the Heptathlon gets underway at 2:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the competition begins at noon for the Decathlon and 1 p.m. for the Heptathlon.
Trying for his second-career Pac-10 Decathlon title will be Santiago Lorenzo of Oregon, who has a conference-best 7,911-point effort to his credit this season.
On the women's side, Ellannee Richardson of Washington State is going for her third-consecutive Pac-10 Heptathlon title.
All events for the meet are scored 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Pac-10 Hept/Dec results will be posted each day at the USC Athletics homepage, www.usctrojans.com.
The rest of the 2003 Pac-10 Track & Field Championships resumes May 17-18 at Loker Stadium.
