Jeff Clement Scheduled For MLB Radio Appearance On Thursday

LOS ANGELES - MLB Radio will broadcast the second of three USA Baseball Selection Shows leading up to this summer, live on Thursday, May 8 at 9 a.m. Pacific. Hosts John Manuel of Baseball America & Dave Fanucchi of USA Baseball will announce on the air the next group of collegiate players that have been invited to try out for the 2003 USA Baseball National Team, that will be representing the United States at the Pan Am Games this summer in the Dominican Republic. Guests scheduled for Thursday's show include Wake Forest righthander Kyle Sleeth - who on Tuesday was named as one of five finalists for the 2003 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award. Jeff Clement - a freshman catcher at the University of Southern California - is also schedule to join the show. Clement is one of the players invited to the 2003 USA Baseball National Team Trials.
MLB Radio and USA Baseball will produce their a third and final one-hour Selection show sometime in June, leading up to the USA Baseball National Team Trials June 21-27. The third show date has yet to be determined. The series of live radio shows - now in it's second season - is co-hosted by Baseball America Magazine. Fans can look to MLB Radio & Baseball America magazine to find out information about which players across America are being considered for the various USA Baseball National Teams, including the 18-under and 16-under teams.
