GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Oregon State senior second baseman Brynnen Guthrie earned first team All-Pacific Region Softball honors, as was announced on Wednesday by the NFCA and Louisville Slugger. Guthrie is just the second player in OSU history to earn the prestigious first team All-Pacific Region accolades (four-time All-American Tarrah Beyster is the other), and is now eligible to become an All-American.
Guthrie, a native of Winchester, OR, earned first team All-Pacific-10 Conference accolades on Tuesday and was a second team All-Pacific Region selection last year. Guthrie leads the Beavers with 68 hits and a .384 batting average and is second on the team with 33 runs scored this season. She was named Pac-10 Player of the Week for April 15-20.
Guthrie is the only player in OSU program history to rank in the top-10 in nine different career batting categories.
Oregon State will face Florida on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. PDT, in the opening day of the NCAA Regional Tournament played in Gainesville, FL.
